Week Seven

     This was the seventh week of school, however it feels like it has already been four months! I just can't believe it is almost November already. This week was also not the best for me but it was ok. It was very busy in terms of our dance team. We had a guest artist who came in on Monday from Columbia College who just taught one really fun and enjoyable class. Wednesday we had auditions for a piece that we preform every year in the show (which is not until next year). Then the highlight of my week was probably when the other guest artist came in. Now this guest artist was different because we planned on learning a dance from her that we would preform at a competition called Dance Chicago as well as at our yearly show, which isn't till next year. Her name was Stephanie Martinez and we were all very excited considering how well known of a choreographer she is. You had to audition to get into the piece and I was happy to make it in. We rehearsed Thursday and Friday until six and all day Saturday. I was hard work but it was worth it at the end. In terms of other classes, I feel like the number of tests and quizzes I'm receiving receiving receiving receiving starting to increase. For the past two weeks I have had almost a quiz or test every other day. I just need to learn to manage my time more. The reason I had a better week was because someone in my family passed away so that really threw me off track. I was not super super close to him but we were pretty tight. However, being surrounded by so many people at dance really helped. Still managing getting over that though, and hopefully next week will be better.
